Recall notice of Certain
Styles of Perfect Aire Dehumidifiers
Dear Customer,
It has come to our
attention that some of the products sold to you may be included in a recall.
New
Widetech, manufacturer of Perfect Aire recently informed Value Merchandise
International on, that 2 items 1PED30 and 1PED50 purchased may be defective and
that it should check the date of manufacture on each unit. New Widetech also told us (1) on 3/5/21 that
the inventory it was selling to us was produced in 2018 and 2019, and (2) recently
that to the best of their knowledge, the units VMI purchased in March of 2021
were manufactured in November 2018 and therefore, may have no products included
in the recall.
We,
out of an abundance of caution, are notifying you of the recall and suggest
that you post notice of the recall and reach out to your customers that have
purchased these humidifiers to check manufacture dates, as we have done.
We
ask you to check all units you purchased, post a notice in your stores,
website, or use other means to alert consumers to check the manufacture dates
by looking at the unit as pictured below. If your unit was manufactured after
September 2017, your product is not affected by this recall. If it shows
a manufactured date of September 2017 or earlier, please contact a New Widetech representative
at 1-877-251-1512 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. (Central Time) Monday through
Friday.
New Widetech, the
manufacturer, states on its website that in cooperation with CPSC and Health
Canada, it is recalling Perfect Aire brand dehumidifiers manufactured
before September 1, 2017, because
under certain circumstances these dehumidifiers can overheat and catch fire
posing fire and burn hazards. It
also states that it is offering consumers with a recalled dehumidifier an
appropriate refund commensurate with the age of the dehumidifiers. Here is a link to this information:

Widetech is taking responsibility for the recall. CPSC will also be reaching
out directly to end users that registered the product to alert them of the
issue and to arrange a refund if they fall within the dates mentioned. (CPSC
website directs consumers to contact New Widetech).
Since
New Widetech recently informed Value Merchandise that it is not 100% sure that
Value Merchandise received pre-September 2017 dehumidifiers Value Merchandise
wants to take extra precaution and send you this notice.
